The Ballard family is designed to closely resemble a typeface
used by the English printer Henry Ballard during the 1590's. It
is meant to convey the feeling of such old printing technology. This font contains an
extended set of characters intended to permit usage for a wide variety of linguistic
needs. The exemplar is sparse containing only a very few punctuation marks in common
use at the time. The rest have been constructed to serve present needs.
This font is offered in several packages: Basic (covering only the modern keyboard), Basic Italic, Basic Family (both Basic and Basic italic) and Full (well over 500 glyphs), Full Italic, Full family (both Full, and Italic Full).
